That pretty much sums up the last two monthes of my life. First I lose my job

Then someone tries to rob my mother...

It was a disaster, Kind of like when the planes crashed and hit the towers.
It wasent 9/11
But someone called 911
Just because I threatened to give him 9+1

The cops came, Me and my mom tried to explain the mitigating circumstances, but all the police was interested in the fact that someone saw me put a gun in this guys face.

I got to spend 2 nights in a cold ass cell until my mom posted 5,0000.
And I got hit with a slew of charges.

Aggravated assault-felony
possession of instrument of a crime-misdemeanor
Making terroristic threats-misdemeanor
Reckless endangerment of another person-misdemeanor
Simple assault--misdemeanor

It cost me 1000 dollars to retain a lawywer...money I did not really have.
I went to the first hearing, and dude did not show up. So the DA asked for a continuance, Judge told him case must be tried September 23.
Basically so long as the guy dont show up then, Then the DA will have to ask for dismissal of charges because of lack of evidence. I know he wont, he did not the first time. He knew he was wrong. Im going to beat the case, but its still a hassle...

Today is the first day I had to spend how I choose too. No work today, Goddess had told me not come today. So im just spending time with my little brother. Also I am playing with my new brand spankin new compaq presario laptop that I had "acquired"

What a ride...

My company had lost one of its investors, and the company had to restructure itself. Many people were laid off, myself included. As time shows once again people like me are able to thrive in the era of ineptitude. After not working for a couple weeks the computers in my department started to . deteriorate Now PC maintenance is not hard at all, but so many people are afraid and unwilling to learn. The department had always taken for granted me keeping them tuned up. As the situation worsened (from their viewpoint) many people in the department had pleaded and debated with the owners to reconsider the viability of my employment. You see my companies mentality is why hire a professional certified computer engineer, when you can hire a kid with some college and a comparable amount of computer knowledge for a third of the price!. LOL luckily I start work again monday. I am grateful to those who spoke well of me, and I will thank them at work.

On May 6th President G. W. Bush apologized Arab world for the abuse and mistreatment of Iraqis in American military custody stating this is not what America is about. While President Bush's apology dually noted in my opinion, I believe he has nothing to apologize for. In fact if one where to take a look at the way business is handled in United States jails I think we would find both situations in parity with one another.

Before we draw comparisons in the treatment of all prisoners within the jurisdiction of American custody lets first take a look at some of the constants.

1. The United States has the highest rate of incarnation with 2.1 million prisoners (est. 2000), or about 1 in every 146 American adults are behind bars. *1

2. Blacks while composing 13% of the population make up for 43% of the prison population.

3. Federal minimum sentencing guidelines are not always proportional to the crime committed A man who stole around $153 worth of video tapes was sentenced to life with no parole given the fact he had 2 prior felony convictions.

To now focus on the conditions that are applied to those incarcirated, one would argue the status qou is not geared to reforming prisoners, but simply to house them. Politicians tout construction of newer more secure facilaities to house prisoners, yet they fail to prove a direct correllation bewteen prisons and higher setences to a accurate and true reduction of the crome rate.

These newer prisons are able be design to segregate criminals from the outside world, are unable to meet many prisoners basic needs. Their are many prisoners classified as being mentally ill yet not being adequately treated because funding went into the physical construction of the prison. Equally as negative are issues such as overcrowding, rape, inmate on inmate violence, and most notably as in the case of the Iraqi prisoners abuse at the hands of guards.

To understand abuse at the hands of guards we must look at this from the human perspective. Prison guards are not inherently evil and out to do harm to prisoners. This is a combination of lacking the right training, limited resources, frustration, and rises in the levels of cynicism of individuals guards during the length of their duty.

This whole issue is just another layer of differences in domestic policy versus political policy. Its more expedient to lay blame and offer lackluster apologies to defuse a potential time bomb in an already tense warzone. The treatment of those Iraqis is nothing more then a looking glass into the way things are done in America. Panels and commissions sound good for the mass media, but they will only produce findings already documented to the domestic counterpart issue. Commissions lead to findings, unfortunately the third and final step; implementation is never realized.
